Movie Exclusive – First Official Full Length Trailer for “The Fault in Our Stars”

After weeks of rumors circulating and an unfortunate premature “leak,” the official trailer for The Fault in Our Stars movie is here! Of course, this trailer gives audiences an in depth look at some early footage from the film and sets up the story quite well.

The Fault in Our Stars - trailer still #1

We get our first look at some of the major scenes between Hazel Grace (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort). In addition, we get a glimpse at some scenes with Hazel and her parents (Laura Dern and Sam Trammell). Something that is also very sweet about the trailer is our first look at the friendship between Augustus and Isaac (Nat Wolff).

Although we do see scenes from the Amsterdam portion of the story, we do not get to see Willem Dafoe as Hazel’s favorite author, Peter Van Houten. However, this trailer is more focused on setting up the love story between Hazel and Augustus anyway. Watch the fantastic first trailer below:

The Fault in Our Stars was directed by Josh Boone and the cast also includes Lotte Verbeek, Mike Birbiglia, Emily Peachey, Milica Govich, and David Whalen.

There have been rumors circulating around the release date of The Fault in Our Stars trailer for weeks. However, these rumors can finally be put to rest as it was officially announced that it will be released tomorrow morning! At first it was believed that it was going to be released on Valentine’s Day, which was partially true because that is when it is going to start playing in movie theaters. [*UPDATE* The trailer actually starting playing theaters on February 7, 2014.]

TRAILER

Unfortunately, somebody who had been trusted with a copy of the trailer leaked it online over the weekend, but it was swiftly taken down due to obvious copyright issues. I believe that the premature “leak” of the trailer pushed Fox to decide to release it earlier.

In a recent Vlogbrothers video, author John Green answered some fan questions about the film and shared a special teaser:

What do you think of this exciting news? What do you think of the teaser John shared? Are you looking forward to the official release of The Fault in Our Stars movie? Who is your favorite character in the story? Stay tuned for the trailer!

Movie Exclusive – First Look at Ben Kingsley in “Ender’s Game”

Entertainment Weekly has shared the first official photo of Oscar-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley in the film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s novel, Ender’s Game. Gavin Hood adapted the novel into a screenplay and directed the film that is being distributed by Summit Entertainment.

This new still gives fans a look at Kingsley as his mysterious character, Mazer Rackham. Kingsley’s character is of Maori decent and so his face is tattooed with intricate Maori designs.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kingsley talked about the tattoo and getting to consult with a Maori tribal expert: “Every gesture in the tattoo carries family history, family struggles – it’s your past. I was so enthralled. He’s in quite a contained, stylized uniform but then this wonderful face tells his warrior history.”

Plus, the actor talked about the script and his character: “In the script, which I think is beautifully written, what come across is the authority and mystery. There’s quite a lot said about him in the story  before you see him — by the recruits and by his fellow officers — and that’s useful as far as preparations.”

Finally, fans will be interested to know that the first trailer for the film will be released on May 7th! Ender’s Game also stars Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, Andrea Powell, Abigail Breslin, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld,  and many more talented actors. Take a look at the full cast list here.

Are you looking forward to seeing Ender’s Game when it hits theaters November 1, 2013? What do you think of the cast members in this film? Are you a fan of Orson Scott Card’s writing?
