Fans of the author John Green are probably counting down the days until the Josh Boone-directed movie adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars. The production started filming in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 26 and finished in Amsterdam on October 16, 2013.
This has left fans even more excited for the film and some are wondering when we may see the first trailer. Unfortunately, production still has to go through the process of editing the film and putting all of the final touches together so it may be a while before we see any trailers or other exclusives.
However, a fan on Tumblr recently asked director Josh Boone about a trailer and he revealed for us where they are in the post production process and when we might see our first trailer:
What do you think of this news? Do you think that it is too long of a wait for the trailer? Are you looking forward to The Fault in Our Stars movie to hit theaters on June 6, 2014?

Fans of the best-selling author John Green are no doubt aware that his novel, The Fault in Our Stars, is being adapted into a major motion picture. The highly awaited film is currently under production and has been filming in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania over the past few weeks. Production will soon be heading to Amsterdam to film the scenes that are set there.
Some interesting and exciting news about an official release date for the film was made public yesterday. Box Office Mojo and Collider shared that The Fault in Our Stars will officially be hitting theaters on June 6, 2014. According to Collider, having the June 6th release date puts the film in an excellent position. However, the film will be opening against Tom Cruise’s sci-fi action flick, Edge of Tomorrow.

Filming for the highly awaited film adaptation of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars began in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania earlier this week! Cast members Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley, producer Wyck Godfrey, screenwriter Scott Neustadter, and John Green himself have all been sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the set.
Of course, these few photos have not revealed too much about the film, but it is exciting to know that production and filming is moving along. Green seems very happy with everything that is going on so far and he has been on set watching the actors film some scenes.
He recently shared his thoughts about Woodley and Elgort on Twitter saying: “Watching @shailenewoodley and @AnselElgort together as Hazel and Gus in the #tfiosmovie feels like actual and literal magic.”
According to Green, it is an emotional roller coaster on set and he has had some emotional moments with the actors: “Just had a good cry with Shai and the wonderful Laura Dern. One of these days I’ll make it to noon before weeping, but not today.”
Green is quite savvy with social media and has been the one sharing the most about experiences on set. Since today is only the third day of shooting, I am sure we will be hearing more from him and the actors as they work through the film.
Finally, here is a list of a few things that Green learned on his first day on set:
“So The Fault in Our Stars movie started shooting today, which is amazing—so amazing, in fact, that I used the word amazing somewhere in the neighborhood of 41,000 times. Like:
1. It is amazing how many people are working on the movie, and how professional and organized they all are. There are like 100 people or something! It’s all amazingly efficient, and yet…
2. It’s amazing how much work goes into every single shot. These people work 12+ hours per day, and shoot at most a few scenes per day.
3. It’s amazing to watch good actors work, particularly young actors like Shailene and Ansel. How do they bring such nuance and depth to a performance? How can they understand these characters so deeply? It seems a little like wizardry to me.
4. The commitment to detail is amazing. I can’t wait until the movie comes out and I can be like, “LOOK AT [spoiler redacted]” and “DID YOU NOTICE THAT [spoiler redacted] IN HAZEL’S ROOM?”
5. It’s amazing how beautiful it all looks. Without getting into spoilers, the visual look of the movie—from the actors to the sets to the light—is very similar to a lot of what I imagined while writing, which creates a weird feeling that your imagination has actually become visible. This is a very strange experience; maybe analogous to hallucination?
6. It’s amazing to think that the right people have come together at the right time with a very real shared passion for this story. I don’t know whether I have luck or providence to thank, but I am very grateful.”
What do you think of these exclusive behind-the-scenes photos? What do you think about the information that John Green has been sharing from set? Are you looking forward to seeing more news about The Fault in Our Stars film?
