The cast of The Vampire Diaries are finally graduating high school in the season finale entitled, “Graduation.” Entertainment Weekly has our first look at the finale, which airs May 16.
The show’s executive producer, Julie Plec, sat down for an interview with Entertainment Weekly and had this to say about this important episode of the show:
“It’s difficult to throw an event in Mystic Falls without it going catastrophically awry, but one of the things that was really important to us is that we do give this event itself its due. We approached this episode, in its own way, like a series finale because our character’s graduating from high school is a shift in the show to open up a lot of new storytelling opportunities and new environments. So we really wanted to be able to get all the emotion out of this episode that we could before we move on to a different life. We made sure that in spite of everything that’s going on in the midst of it, we still get those great friendship moments and nostalgia moments that I, as a fan of TV over the decades, loved so much on high school shows as you reached that milestone.”
Plec also revealed: “There will definitely be an altercation resulting in some blood loss, but that’s about all I can say.” It sounds like this episode is going to be pretty intense and filled with a lot of exciting of plot twists! According to the episode synopsis Mystic Falls will be “overrun with ghosts intent on settling old scores and fulfilling their supernatural destinies.”
What do you think of these new stills? What do you think of the interview with Julie Plec? Are you glad that the cast is finally graduating high school in this episode? What do you think will happen in this episode between the vampires and Silas? Will you be tuning into the season finale when it airs?
Fans of NBC’s Smash may be interested in hearing the news about the two-hour long season finale entitled “The Tonys.” The network has announced this episode will air on Sunday, May 26th at 9/8c.
In a recent interview with TVLine, showrunner Josh Safran revealed that there is going to be a musical number that features all of the principal cast and “all the loose ends from this season getting tied up — some more happily than others.”
There is speculation that Smash might be canceled due to the low ratings and the fact that it was recently moved to Saturday nights. Moving a show to Saturday nights is usually the “kiss of death” for television. However, the network has not made any official announcements regarding the cancelation of Smash. I am still willing to hold out hope that it will be renewed for a third season.
Personally, I trust a direct announcement from the network more than any other source. NBC has just revealed this afternoon several shows that are renewed for the fall, which include Parenthood, Grimm, Chicago Fire, and Revolution. The network has not addressed anything about Smash yet, but be sure to check back in for more news soon.
Do you want Smash to come back for a third season? Will you be tuning in to the season finale? Which musical is your favorite, Bombshell or Hit List? What do you think will happen at the Tonys?
For those of you that follow the hit show Glee you know that the emotional and exciting season finale was back in May and there are going to be a few changes to the show, come season four, now that some of our favorite characters have graduated from McKinley High. The Fox Network has also recently announced that the show will be moving to Thursday nights starting in this fall.
Those of you who watch and follow the Fox hit TV show Glee are aware that tomorrow night is the season three finale and a lot of the cast is graduating from William McKinley High. This has led to speculation about whether those graduating cast members will be leaving the show or returning for the fourth season.
According to an article that I found and read on the Wrap, Ryan Murphy (the series creator) stated: “They’re all coming back. Anyone who is a regular is coming back.” This is good news for us Glee fans who have come to know and love characters like Rachel, Finn, Kurt, Santana, Mike, Mercedes, and Puck (who are all supposed to be graduating.)
Tomorrow’s finale is supposed to be an emotional episode so is everyone ready with the tissues!? I know I will be! Check out the links I have shared below for a poll on your favorite characters, the article from the Wrap, a promo, and some behind the scenes footage. 🙂
