Televison – Watch the Official Opening Credits for “Girl Meets World”

The official opening credit sequence for Disney’s spin-off Girl Meets World has been released! Of course, we get an introduction to the cast and a glimpse at the show. We also get to hear the show’s theme song for the first time!

Actresses Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, who play Riley Matthews and Maya Hart respectively, provided the vocals for the theme song entitled “Take On the World.”

Girl Meets World will be premiering June 27 at 9:45 p.m. ET on the Disney Channel. For those who may be interested, the first couple of episodes are now available on Disney Channel’s streaming platform!

Television – Six New Images from Disney’s “Girl Meets World”

Just Jared Jr. recently shared some exclusive new images from Disney’s upcoming spin-off series, Girl Meets World. In these new images, we get a closer look at the relationship between Cory (Ben Savage) and his daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

There are also some images featuring the new Matthews family and Riley with her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter). Plus, there are new stills that introduce us to the love interest, Lucas Friar (Peyton Meyer), and the oddball Shamus Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis).

Television – New Sneak Peek Preview for “Girl Meets World”

An exclusive new sneak peek preview for Disney’s Girl Meets World has been released! In this new preview, we get a look at some new footage from the show and an introduction to the friendship between Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter):

Girl Meets World will be premiering on the Disney Channel on Friday, June 27 at 9:45 p.m. after the premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie Zapped! Then there will be a week long hiatus and cast members will be hosting a special event as the show takes over it’s official time slot of Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on July 11.

Extended Trailer and Official Premiere Date for “Girl Meets World”

BuzzFeed is reporting that Disney has officially announced a premiere date for the highly anticipated spin-off series Girl Meets World.

A Disney Channel representative revealed that the series debut will air on Friday, June 27 at 9:45 p.m. after the premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie Zapped! There will then be a week long hiatus and cast members will be hosting an event as the show takes over it’s official time slot of Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on July 11.

Girl Meets World will introduce fans to Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga’s (Danielle Fishel) children Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Auggie (August Maturo) and it picks up ten years after Boy Meets World left off. The main narrative will follow Riley and her best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) as they try to navigate New York City and school life.

According to Colliderthe first episode will be available as a free download on iTunes starting June 13 and the Disney Channel will be airing a Boy Meets World marathon starting on June 15.

First Official Poster for Disney’s “Girl Meets World”

The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively shared the first official poster for the highly awaited Disney series, Girl Meets World. This new poster showcases the cast very nicely and reveals the official Girl Meets World logo.

The poster features Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) are standing with their son Auggie (August Maturo) and Riley’s best friend, Maya (Sabrina Carpenter). Of course, the poster would be incomplete without the girl herself, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) is standing below them holding a globe at her fingertips.

Currently, there is still no set premiere date for the series, but it is expected to premiere sometime in the late summer or early fall. Watch the first teaser here and stay tuned for an official premiere date!

Television Exclusive – First Official Teaser for “Girl Meets World”

Entertainment Weekly and E! recently shared the first official teaser trailer for Disney’s upcoming spin-off series, Girl Meets World! This new show is a spin-off of Boy Meets World, which finished it’s run in 2000.

The new teaser gives us a look Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) and her friend Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter). Plus, we also get a glimpse of the relationship that Riley has with her parents, Corey (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel).

From watching the teaser, it seems like this is going to be a big success for Disney Channel as they head back to their classic routes. Currently, there is no official premiere date for the show other than sometime in early fall.

Television Exclusive – Disney Orders “Girl Meets World” to Series

Disney Channel executives announced today that the highly anticipated Boy Meets World spinoff, Girl Meets World, has officially been ordered as a series! However, the network has not announced or determined how many episodes for the order, production is still set to move forward. This is a big decision for the network and the pilot has aired on television yet, so the executives must believe that the show will be a success!

In a recent statement Disney Channel Worldwide’s original programming executive vice president, Adam Bonnett, had this to say:

Boy Meets World and its story of adolescent self discovery resonated with an entire generation of tweens. In the same way audiences fell in love with Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, we look forward to introducing our viewers to their daughter Riley Matthews in Girl Meets World and building a memorable connection with a whole new generation of fans.”


Rowan Blanchard was cast as Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley, and Sabrina Carpenter was cast as her best friend, Maya. Plus, Teo Halm was cast as Riley’s older brother Elliott, Peyton Meyer was cast as a potential love interest for Riley named Tristan Friar, and Corey Fogelmanis was cast as the super-smart fellow student,  Shamus Farkle. William Daniels will also be returning as his character Mr. Feeney and there is also a possibility that Rider Strong will be returning as Cory’s best friend, Shawn Hunter.

Show creator Michael Jacobs had this to say about the exciting developments with Girl Meets World:

“I am grateful to everyone at Disney Channel for the opportunity to reach my favorite audience, which has always been kids,” Michael Jacobs, who created Boy Meets World. Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular.”

The spinoff is set in New York City and Cory is now a history teacher at the junior high Riley attends and Topanga owns a local diner, which also acts as a popular after school hangout spot.
