Cannes 2013 – Photos from “Behind the Candelabra” Premiere, Photocall, and Festival Panel

Director Steven Soderbergh’s HBO Liberace biography, Behind the Candelabra, hit Cannes yesterday for a premiere event, a photocall, and a festival panel. Michael Douglas and Matt Damon were the only two cast members that were present. However, producer Jerry Weintraub, screenwriter Richard LaGravenese, and author Scott Thorson were also present.

Other actors and Hollywood names that attended the premiere include Sharon Stone, Christoph Waltz, Petra Nemcova, Jamel Debbouze, Thierry Frémaux, Cristian Mungiu, and Julie De Bona.

Cannes 2013 – Red Carpet Photos from “Blood Ties” Premiere and Photocall Events

The Guillaume Canet-directed film Blood Ties premiered at the 66th Annual Cannes film festival yesterday along with James Franco’s As I Lay DyingCanet also wrote the screenplay for this film and adapted it from the novel by Bruno and Michel Papet. Set in the 1970s, this film follows two brothers who face off over organized crime in Brooklyn. 

Blood Ties stars actors Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis, Marion Cotillard, Lili Taylor, and James Caan. Most of these cast members were present for a photocall and big premiere event at Cannes. If you have not seen it yet, watch an exclusive trailer for Blood Ties here.

Cannes 2013 – Red Carpet Photos from “As I Lay Dying” Photocall and Premiere

Actor James Franco is always on the go and is seemingly always trying to accomplish the impossible. Franco’s most recent project is a film adaptation of William Faulkner’s novel, As I Lay Dying. 

Not only did Franco star in this film as one of the male lead characters, Darl Bundren, he directed it and wrote the screenplay. This adaptation also stars Beth Grant, Ahna O’Reilly, Tin Blake Nelson, Danny McBride, Logan Marshall-Green, Jim Parrack, and Jesse Heiman.

As I Lay Dying premiered yesterday at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival and Franco, Grant, O’Reilly, and Nelson were present for a photocall and premiere event. If you have not seen the trailer for this movie yet, be sure to check it out here.

Movie Exclusive – First Images from the Coen Brothers’ “Inside Llewyn Davis”

The Coen brothers’ newest film, Inside Llewyn Davis, premiered at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival just the other day. Joel and Ethan Coen wrote the screenplay, produced, and directed the film together, as they often do.

This film has an extremely talented cast behind it including Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, and Adam Driver. Isaac play the lead role of Llewyn Davis, a struggling musician who is a part of the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Timberlake and Mulligan will be portraying Jim and Jean Berkey. These first few photos give us a look at Isaac, Timberlake, and Mulligan in their roles.

Joel and Ethan Cohen’s Inside Llewyn Davis premiered on day five of the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival! Both brother wrote the screenplay, directed, and produced this project.

Follow a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles — some of them of his own making.

As day four of Cannes was underway, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, and director Frances Lawrence of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire attended a photocall, a CoverGirl party, and the premiere of the film Jimmy P. Plus, producers Jon Kilik, Patrick Wachsberger, Nina Jacobson, and Summit Executive Rob Friedman were also present for the photocall.
