Movie Images – Fantastic New Stills for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”

With the world premiere now less than a week away, Lionsgate is busy sharing some Hunger Games exclusives to get fans ready for the movie. The studio released sixteen (16) new stills from the highly awaited sequel, Catching Fire. 

Many of these images, of course, feature the talented Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen. However, there are also some new images of characters such as Johanna Mason (Jena Malone) and Brutus (Bruno Gunn). Through these images, we also get a look at some of the amazing  costume details designer Trish Summerville has put together.

Movie Exclusive – Fantastic Final Trailer for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” Released

Fox aired the final trailer for the highly awaited sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, tonight during a World Series game. Once again, Lionsgate and director Francis Lawrence have put together an amazing trailer that will no doubt get fans even more excited for the film.

This new trailer shows us more of the strained and tense relationship between Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and President Snow (Donald Sutherland). We also get a closer look at different aspects of the arena and a sneak peek at some of the major events that occur in the arena. For instance, we get our first look at the monkeys, the poisonous fog, and the jabberjays.

Movie Exclusive – Three New Images from “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”

Entertainment Weekly released three new images from the film for fans to get excited over while we wait for a special edition of the magazine to hit newsstands. These new images give us a closer look at the Peacekeepers, Johanna Mason (Jena Malone), and the intricate world of Panem. Here is the first of the three stills:

Catching Fire - #6

The magazine also revealed that the next edition of the magazine will be giving us an exclusive look behind-the-scenes at the highly anticipated Hunger Games sequel! It was also revealed that there will be four separate collectable covers for this edition, each cover featuring a different character.

The first cover features Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, the second one features Josh Hutcherson and Peeta, the third one features Liam Hemsworth as Gale, and the fourth and final one features newcomer Sam Claflin as Finnick. This edition will include exclusive interviews with the cast, exciting new stills, and a report from the set.

Casting News MegaPost – Five New Cast Members Join “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay”

Over the past week, there have been several casting announcements for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2. These announcements have officially revealed the actors who will be playing Commander Lyme, Commander Paylor, Boggs, Castor, and Pollux.

Actress Lily Rabe will be playing Commander Lyme and actress Patina Miller will be playing Commander Paylor. Commander Lyme is a strong and independent female victor who is the commander of the rebellion in District 2 and Commander Paylor is the female leader of the rebellion for District 8 and she later becomes president of Panem. Rabe is best known for her current work on American Horror Story as Sister Mary Eunice McKee and Miller is known for her work on ABC’s All My Children.

Actor Mahershala Ali is going to be playing Boggs, who acts as President Coin’s assistant until Katniss agrees to be the Mockingjay. From there, it is his job to help protect Katniss and ensure that she stays alive. Ali has recently worked on the drama House of Cards, and was Tizzy in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Wes Chatham and Elden Henson also recently joined the ever-expanding cast as Castor and Pollux, respectively. Castor and Pollux are actually brothers who work together with Cressida (Natalie Dormer) and Messalla (Evan Ross) during the rebellion. The four of them form a film crew that follow Katniss on her journey as the Mockingjay. Chatham was recently in the Oscar-winning film, The Help, and Henson was most recently in the movie Jobs with Ashton Kutcher.

Movie Exclusive – More Character Portraits Released for “Catching Fire”

As we are getting closer and closer to the release of the majorly awaited Hunger Games sequel, more images and exclusives are slowly being released for fans. These stunning portraits feature all of the tributes that participate in the Quarter Quell and some new Capitol Officials.

Through the portraits, we get a deeper look into the new characters and the world of Panem that director Francis Lawrence has built and expanded on. Casting News – Actress Julianne Moore Officially Joins “The Hunger Games”

Lionsagte has officially announced that actress Julianne Moore will be joining The Hunger Games franchise. The accomplished and talented actress will be playing the role of president Alma Coin in Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2. The studio shared this exciting news in an official press release on Friday:

“Lionsgate announced today that four-time Academy Award® nominee Julianne Moore (Boogie Nights, The Hours, The End of the Affair, and Far From Heaven) has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2 as President Alma Coin, the leader of the rebellion against the Capitol. Moore will star opposite Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the third and fourth installments of the global blockbuster Hunger Games franchise, slated for release in November 2014 and November 2015, respectively. She will join new cast members including Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson and Evan Ross. In addition to her four Oscar-nominated roles, Moore has previously starred in Crazy Stupid Love, The Kids Are All Right, Children of Men and last year’s HBO political drama film Game Change, which netted her an Emmy®, Golden Globe® and SAG Award®.
