Exclusive New Photos for “The Host”

The Collider and Hollywood.com posted some interesting and exclusive new stills from David Niccol’s film, The Host. For those of you who might not know, this film is based off of Stephenie Meyer’s best selling novel of the same title.

The Host has a strong cast behind it including actors Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, Jake Abel, Diane Kruger, William Hurt, and Boyd Holbrook.  Here is the official synopsis for the film:

“The Host is a riveting story about the survival of love and the human spirit in a time of war. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact. Most of humanity has succumbed.”

Have you read Meyer’s novel? If so, are you a fan? Are you looking forward to seeing this film when it hits theaters March 29, 2013? What do you think of the cast and the new photos from the film? Let me know in the comments!

First Official Look at “Ender’s Game”

Fans of Orson Scott Card’s 1985 novel, Ender’s Game, will be very excited to know that the first official stills for the Gavin Hood-directed film adaptation were recently released.

Ender’s Game stars Harrison Ford, Sir Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Andrea Powell, Abigail Breslin, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld,  and many more. Take a look at the full cast list here.

According to Entertainment Weekly, it has been difficult for the film industry to adapt the novel into a film due to its complex themes. Plus, the fact that it follows children and young adults who are “military recruits fighting each other in a futuristic, space-set Battle School” doesn’t make it any easier. However, I think that Hunger Games has paved the way for this film adaptation as these types of stories have become more acceptable in modern, mainstream pop culture.

Have a look at the new stills below and let me know what you think in the comments below! Ender’s Game is currently set to hit theaters November 1, 2013.

Teaser Trailer and Photos – “Les Misérables”

A powerful teaser trailer for director Tom Hooper’s film version of the musical Les Misérables was released today. The film is set to release December 14, 2012.

With a stellar cast: Hugh Jackman playing Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe playing Inspector Javert, Anne Hathaway playing Fantine, Amanda Seyfried as an older Cosette, theatre star Samantha Barks as Éponine, Sacha Baron Cohen as Thénardier, and Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thénardier, there is no way Hooper could have done wrong.

In this seminal musical, Prisoner 24601, Jean Valjean, is released from prison and breaks parole to create a new life for himself while evading the grip of the persistent Inspector Javert. It is set in early 19th-century France and the story reaches resolution against the background of the July Revolution of 1832.
