Next year is going to be another big year for the movie industry with plenty of Oscar-worthy films lined up. However, there are also several films generating buzz that are being released before the new year. Some amazing new trailers have been released for a few inspiring movies that I cannot wait to see. Read below for details on each film and click the film name for links to the trailer!

1) One Chance stars James Corden, Alexandra Roach, Julie Walters, Mackenzie Crook, Colm Meaney, and Jemima Rooper. This is the official synopsis (via Apple Movie Trailers): From the director of The Devil Wears Prada, One Chance is the remarkable and inspirational true story of Paul Potts, a shy, bullied shop assistant by day and an amateur opera singer by night. Paul became an instant YouTube phenomenon after being chosen by Simon Cowell for “Britain’s Got Talent.” Wowing audiences worldwide with his phenomenal voice, Paul went on to win “Britain’s Got Talent” and the hearts of millions. One Chance is going to be hitting theaters on December 27, 2013.

2) Philomena has a talented cast that includes Judi Dench, Steve Coogan, Michelle Fairley, Charlie Murphy, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Mare Winningham, and Charles Edwards. Here is the official synopsis (via Apple Movie Trailers): Based on the 2009 investigative book by BBC correspondent Martin Sixsmith, The Lost Child of Philomena Lee, Philomena focuses on the efforts of Philomena Lee (Dench), mother to a boy conceived out of wedlock—something her Irish-Catholic community didn’t have the highest opinion of—and given away for adoption in the United States. In following church doctrine, she was forced to sign a contract that wouldn’t allow for any sort of inquiry into the son’s whereabouts. After starting a family years later in England and, for the most part, moving on with her life, Lee meets Sixsmith (Coogan), a BBC reporter with whom she decides to discover her long-lost son. Philomena will be theatrically released on November 22, 2013.

3) Belle stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Tom Wilkinson, Emily Watson, Sarah Gadon, Penelope Wilton, Miranda Richardson, Tom Felton, Sam Reid, and Matthew Goode. Here is an official synopsis (via Apple Movie Trailers): Belle is inspired by the true story of Dido Elizebeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral (Matthew Goode). Raised by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson), Belle’s lineage affords her certain privileges, yet the color of her skin prevents her from fully participating in the traditions of her social standing. Left to wonder if she will ever find love, Belle falls for an idealistic young vicar’s son bent on change who, with her help, shapes Lord Mansfield’s role as Lord Chief Justice to end slavery in England. Belle premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 8, 2013 and will be released in theaters on May 2, 2014.

Production Exclusive – Sam Mendes to Direct Next “James Bond” Film

It has been exclusively announced that director Sam Mendes will indeed be returning to direct the 24th James Bond film. The next instalment in the popular British film franchise currently does not have an official title. However, it has been confirmed that actor Daniel Craig will also be returning to the franchise as 007.

Sony and MGM must realize that the production team used for Skyfall created a very successful Bond film as screenwriter John Logan will also be returning to write the script.

It is interesting that Mendes has decided to return to the franchise because he publicly stated that he wanted to devote himself to working on the West End stage production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before moving on to another film project.

In a recent statement, Mendes had this to say about returning to the franchise: “I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honour all my theatre commitments, the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24. I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time.”

The next Bond film is currently set to hit theaters in the UK on October 23, 2015 and on November 6, 2015 in the United States. What do you think of this interesting production news? Are you a fan of the James Bond franchise? Who is your favorite Bond? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
