Since there is only one more day until Tom Hooper’s Les Misérables hits theaters, I thought that I should write a post about a few new featurettes and a new trailer that were recently released. You can watch all of these videos exclusively on YouTube and I will share links below.
I previously posted about four other featurettes that came out earlier in December. I warned Les Misérables fans, if you do not want to spoil anything then it might be best you not watch these videos until after you see the movie. Well for this post, I will reiterate that warning, especially if you do not want to spoil anything.
The first of the featurettes includes short interviews with some of the cast, director Tom Hooper, and producer Cameron Mackintosh. In this featurette, they are all talking about Jackman and how he truly embodies the character of Jean Valjean and the amount of effort that he put into the role. The rest of the featurettes include a look at sound mixing and editing, a look at the scale of the opening number of the film, a look at how Samantha Barks got her role, and a look at how the soundtrack for the film was scored. Plus, there is another featurette that talks about how the Broadway actor, Colm Wilkinson, starred as Jean Valjean when the musical first opened and is now playing the bishop in the film. Finally, the last featurette has interviews with the cast and production teams as they talk about the set pieces and filming at the famous Pinewood Studios.
The trailer features Samantha Barks as Éponine as she is singing “On My Own.” There are also a few new clips intertwined with Samantha’s wonderful performance. Watch the exclusive “On My Own” Trailer here. Plus, here are the links to all of the featurettes:
