With Stone coming off a big weekend at the box office with the recent premiere of her film The Amazing Spider-Man 2, this could be a beneficial deal for Allen and potential distributors for the film.

Actress Jessica Chastain has definitely earned her way into Hollywood stardom after gaining two separate Oscar nominations in two years. It was recently announced that she will be part of the cast for Guillermo del Toro’s next horror project, Crimson Peak. Del Toro and Chastain also worked together on Mama.
Crimson Peak is slowly gaining talented actors as apart of the cast as Emma Stone, Charlie Hunnam, and Benedict Cumberbatch have also recently been officially signed on for the project.
Del Toro has stated that this new film is “very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story. It will allow me to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules.” He wrote the original version of the script with Matthew Robbins, and Lucinda Coxon recently worked on a rewrite. The story follows a women who becomes suspicious of her husband’s behavior and begins to realize he might not be who he pretends to be.
As of right now, there are no major details on the characters and which parts the actors were cast in so far. Be sure to check back for more characters details as I will post them when they become available!
What do you think of these casting choices? Would you be interested in seeing Crimson Peak? What is your favorite del Toro-directed film? What is your favorite film that Chaztain has starred in?
Due to the recent events at the Dark Knight Rises premiere in Aurora, Colorado, Warner Brothers is planning to change the release date of the Ruben Fleischer-directed Gangster Squad. This film was originally going to hit theaters September 7, 2012, but now the studio is looking at a 2013 release. This change is needed for the cast and crew to do reshoots because of a scene of a movie theater shooting in the completed film. A trailer for the film had a glimpse of this scene and it was pulled out of respect for the victims and because that scene will no longer be in the film.
As I have mentioned, this film has an amazing cast that includes Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte, Robert Patrick, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie, Emma Stone, and finally, Sean Penn – (Really, I mean how can you go wrong?) Gangster Squad is set in 1949 Los Angeles and is a retelling of events surrounding the LAPD’s efforts to take back their city from one of the most dangerous mafia bosses of all time.
The studio is currently looking at January 11, 2013 for the new release date. However, the studio is considering when and how quickly the cast can be brought in for reshoots and their availibility for press events and premieres before officially changing the release date. The studio is also considering what other films are being released around that time and the only “competition” on the January 11 release date is is Paramount’s Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton.
I would like to just take a moment to say my heart goes out to the victims of the Aurora incident and I hope they all make a speedy recovery. I cannot imagine what they are all going through and I send out my best wishes to all of them.
UPDATE: The release date has officially been moved to January 11, 2013.
