Rising Star Monday – Chlo√ę Grace Moretz

I want to start a new post theme here on trulyluminary. ūüôā I am going to talk about the young and new stars of Hollywood and how their careers¬†are on the rise. To start I am going to talk about Chlo√ꬆGrace Moretz.

This talented fifteen-year-old actress is definitely somebody to watch. Moretz started in film at the tender age of seven and has built an extensive resume, especially for someone her age! A few of her projects include The Amityville Horror, Wicked Little Things, (500) Days of Summer, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Let Me In, Hugo, Dark Shadows, and of course, the role of Mindy Macready/Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass. This role was considered Moretz’s breakthrough and it¬†has garnered a lot of attention and fame over the two years since the film was released.

Another role that could gain Miss Moretz some critical acclaim is her portrayal of a gritty teenage runaway in her most recent film, Hick.

Hick follows Luli McMullen (Moretz) who escapes a tumultuous life in Nebraska and her alcoholic parents. She decides to run away to Las Vegas but gets more than she bargains for when she sets out on her journey. Other actors include Eddie Redmayne, Ray McKinnon, Rory Culkin, Juliette Lewis, Blake Lively, and Alec Baldwin. It was released on May 11, 2012.

With seven titles in production and three titles under development,¬†we will be watching Moretz’s career, and talent, evolve before our very eyes.
