This is the official synopsis (via Apple Movie Trailers): From the director of The Devil Wears Prada, One Chance is the remarkable and inspirational true story of Paul Potts, a shy, bullied shop assistant by day and an amateur opera singer by night. Paul became an instant YouTube phenomenon after being chosen by Simon Cowell for “Britain’s Got Talent.” Wowing audiences worldwide with his phenomenal voice, Paul went on to win “Britain’s Got Talent” and the hearts of millions. One Chance is going to be hitting theaters on December 27, 2013.

2) Philomena has a talented cast that includes Judi Dench, Steve Coogan, Michelle Fairley, Charlie Murphy, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Mare Winningham, and Charles Edwards. Here is the official synopsis (via Apple Movie Trailers): Based on the 2009 investigative book by BBC correspondent Martin Sixsmith, The Lost Child of Philomena Lee, Philomena focuses on the efforts of Philomena Lee (Dench), mother to a boy conceived out of wedlock—something her Irish-Catholic community didn’t have the highest opinion of—and given away for adoption in the United States. In following church doctrine, she was forced to sign a contract that wouldn’t allow for any sort of inquiry into the son’s whereabouts. After starting a family years later in England and, for the most part, moving on with her life, Lee meets Sixsmith (Coogan), a BBC reporter with whom she decides to discover her long-lost son. Philomena will be theatrically released on November 22, 2013.

3) Belle stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Tom Wilkinson, Emily Watson, Sarah Gadon, Penelope Wilton, Miranda Richardson, Tom Felton, Sam Reid, and Matthew Goode. Here is an official synopsis (via Apple Movie Trailers): Belle is inspired by the true story of Dido Elizebeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral (Matthew Goode). Raised by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson), Belle’s lineage affords her certain privileges, yet the color of her skin prevents her from fully participating in the traditions of her social standing. Left to wonder if she will ever find love, Belle falls for an idealistic young vicar’s son bent on change who, with her help, shapes Lord Mansfield’s role as Lord Chief Justice to end slavery in England. Belle premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 8, 2013 and will be released in theaters on May 2, 2014.

Movie Exclusive – “Diana” Biopic Gets Official Theatrical Release Date

Actress Naomi Watts has two Oscar nominations under her belt and with recent production changes for her biopic, Diana, it looks like she is poised for a third. The talented actress is portraying the People’s Princess in the awaited biopic, which Oliver Hirschbiegel directed. Entertainment One recently announced that Diana will be officially hitting theaters in limited release on November 1, 2013.

As perviously reported, the film is following the last two years of Lady Di’s life and her romantic relationship with heart surgeon, Dr. Hasnat Khan (Lost‘s Naveen Andrews). Of course, the film also touches on the highly public relationship and divorce between the Princess and Prince Charles.

Naomi Watts - Princess Diana #3

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hirschbiegel had this to say about Diana as a character: “She finds that love that she’s always been longing for and she’s always been deprived of. She is the most complex character I’ve ever had to deal with.”

The release date being moved into the beginning of November puts the film in a good position to be considered for award season. However, this year is a big year for film and Ender’s GameLast Vegas, Dallas Buyers Club, and Free Birds are also premiering on November 1.

Movie Exclusive – New International Poster Released for “Diana” Biopic

A stunning new international poster has been released for the Oliver Hirschbiegel-directed biopic entitled Diana. The production itself has actually undergone several changes with both the title and release date being changed. The original title was Caught in Flight, but it was later changed to simply, Diana. The release date was also changed from August 29 to September 20, 2013.

This biopic takes a looks at Lady Diana’s relationship with Dr. Hasnat Khan and the last few years of her life. Naomi Watts is playing Princess Diana and Dr. Hasnat Khan is being played by Naveen Andrews. The biopic also stars Cas Anvar, Douglas Hodge, Geraldine James, Charles Edwards, and Daniel Pirrie.

This poster gives us another glimpse of Watts in the iconic role of Princess Diana and the resemblance is almost uncanny. Personally, I think Watts was a great choice for the role and I am very interested in seeing how the film plays out. If you have not already, be sure to watch the first trailer for the film here.
