Mothers. Daughters. Rebels. – New Character Portraits for “Suffragette”

Ladies, let’s face it, being a woman in a man’s world has never exactly been easy. However, women today would not have the same rights that we do without the generations of suffragettes who used their voices for change. This is what Focus Pictures is trying to celebrate with the upcoming historical drama, Suffragette.

Already getting early awards buzz, Suffragette stars an incomparable trio of ladies: Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham Carter and Carey Mulligan. Plus, Brendan Gleeson, Anne-Marie Duff, Ben Whishaw and Samuel West round out the cast.

Suffragette is premiering at the London Film Festival on October 7 and hitting theaters in North America on October 23. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, definitely something you do not want to miss:

Official Trailer for “The Company You Keep”

Sony Pictures has officially released a trailer for Robert Redford’s next directorial endeavour, The Company You Keep. This film has a stellar cast that includes Redford, Shia LaBeouf, Julie Christie, Brendan Gleeson, Anna Kendrick, Nick Nolte, Sma Elliot, Terrence Howard, Brit Marling, Chris Cooper, Jackie Evancho, Richard Jenkins, Stanley Tucci, and Susan Sarandon.

Here is the official synopsis for the film (via Apple Movie Trailers):

Jim Grant (Robert Redford) is a public interest lawyer and single father raising his daughter in the tranquil suburbs of Albany, New York. Grant’s world is turned upside down,when a brash young reporter named Ben Shepard (Shia LaBeouf) exposes his true identity as a former 1970s antiwar radical fugitive wanted for murder. After living for more than 30 years underground, Grant must now go on the run. With the FBI in hot pursuit, he sets off on a cross-country journey to track down the one person that can clear his name.

Starting in September, The Company You Keep has been premiered at several film festivals, including the Venice Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Stockholm International Film Festival.  The Hollywood Reporter actually did a review of the film after it premiered at the Venice Film Festival, so if you are interested you can read that here. Personally, I think that it looks like an excellent film that would definitely be worth watching.
