Arbitrage is a  thriller the deals with the themes of love, loyalty, and high finance. Robert Miller (Gere) is a New York hedge-fund entrepreneur and he seems to be the ideal example of success in American business and family life. But Miller is desperately trying to complete the sale of his trading empire to a major bank before the truths of his fraud are revealed. Miller begins to have difficulties hiding his dishonesty from wife Ellen (Sarandon) and daughter and heir-apparent Brooke (Marling). He is also balancing an affair with a French art-dealer Julie Cote (Casta). Just as he’s about to sale his troubled business, an unexpected error causes Miller to juggle family, business, and crime with the help of Jimmy Grant (Parker). A wrong turn leads to the suspicions of NYPD Detective Michael Bryer (Roth), who will stop at nothing in his pursuits. Miller has to confront the limits of his own morals.
