Trailer MegaPost – “Elysium,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “The Way, Way Back”

There have been some amazing and exciting new trailers released lately for the three highly anticipated films Elysium, Romeo and Juliet, and The Way, Way Back. Although all three films have different styles and are in different genres, they all look like spectacular films that will gain attention from critics and audiences alike. Read below for details on each film and click the film name for links to the trailer!

1. Elysium stars actors Matt Damon, Jodi Foster, Wagner Moura, Sharlto Copley, William Fichtner and Diego Luna and is directed by Neill BlomkampHere is an official synopsis for Elysium (via IMDb): “In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Foster), a government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.” Be sure to catch Elysium in theaters this summer on August 9, 2013.

2. Romeo and Juliet stars Hailee Steinfeld as Juliet, Douglas Booth as Romeo, Damian Lewis as Lord Capulet, and Paul Giamatti as Friar Laurence. Plus, Stellan Skarsgard as the Prince of Verona, Ed Westwick as Tybalt, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Benvolio, and Natascha McElhone as Lady Capulet. This adaptation was directed by Carlo Carlei and the screenplay is by Julian Fellowes. Of course, this film is based off of William Shakespeare’s classic and timeless play, Romeo and Juliet. This stunning adaptation will be hitting theaters October 25, 2013.

3. The Way, Way Back stars Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, AnnaSophia Robb, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Amanda Peet, Rob Corddry, and Liam James and is directed by both Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. This was one of the films to watch for that premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Here is an official synopsis (via Apple Movie Trailers): “The Way, Way Back is the funny and poignant coming-of-age story of 14-year-old Duncan’s (James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Carell), and his daughter Steph (Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up and begins to finally find his place in the world—all during a summer he will never forget.” The Way, Way Back actually looks like a  funny and heart-warming film so be sure to catch it when it releases on July 5th, 2013.

Sundance 2013 – “Entertainment Weekly” Star Portraits – Day Five!

Sundance 2013 – “Entertainment Weekly” Star Portraits – Day Two!

As the Sundance Film Festival underway, Entertainment Weekly has released portraits of the stars, directors, and producers that attended day two of the festival. Flashback Friday – “10 Things I Hate About You”

This week we are going to look at photos from the Gil Junger-directed film 1o Things I Hate About You. This film came out in 1999 and is based off of William Shakespeare’s play Taming of The Shrew. The cast of this film included Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Larisa Oleynik, David Krumholtz, Susan May Pratt, Andrew Keegan, Gabrielle Union, Larry Miller, and Allison Janney.

An interesting fact about this film is it was all shot in various locations in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington. Also, there are some lines in the film that are directly from Shakespeare’s Taming of The Shrew and his Sonnet 56. Something eles that is interesting is Heath Ledger beat out Josh Hartnett and Ashton Kutcher for his role of Patrick Verona in this film.

For those of you that are fans of this film will be excited to know that Gil Junger is currently developing  a film titled 10 Things I Hate About Life, which might be a sequel. However, it is still only in early stages of development so be patient and keep an eye out for what is going on!
