Television Exclusive – First Look at Season Five of “Glee”

Entertainment Weekly recently shared an exclusive new photo from the season five premiere episode of Glee. At the end of last season, it was teased that Blaine could potentially propose to Kurt and the last few seconds of the episode ended on a cliffhanger and left fans wanting more.

This adorable new photo features Chris Colfer and Darren Criss as their characters Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson in the midst of a student crowd. Despite that this photo seems like it may be revealing the big proposal, Criss explained to Entertainment Weekly that it is not the moment most fans are hoping for. In a recent interview, the actor did tease: “There’s definitely going to be an answer to what Blaine is going to do within the first two episodes.”

Fox’s “Glee” Producers Embrace Cory Monteith’s Death and Looming Production

With the tragic and sudden passing of Glee star Cory Monteith, the production team is not only going to be grieving the loss, but they must set a course of action for production.

A Fox executive told The Wrap that they are unsure if production will begin in late July as scheduled or if it will be pushed back to a later date. Season five of the hit show was supposed to premiere on September 19, but that may also have to be pushed back until a later date.

Executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk and 20th Century chief executives Dana Walden and Gary Newman, must now find a way to carefully weave in a sudden absence for Monteith’s lead character Finn Hudson.

Now that his character Finn has graduated from high school and is attending the University of Lima, it may be easier for the writers and producers to find a way to explain an unexpected absence. Of course, we will just have to wait until the show airs again in the fall to find out how the showrunners will handle it, but rest assured that it will be handled tastefully.

Cory Monteith

I would just like to take a moment to send my condolences to Cory Monteith’s friends, family, his girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele, fans, and all of the cast and crew involved in Glee who are mourning the loss of this talented young man. It is so unfortunate when the world loses such a bright star like Mr. Monteith. I am personally a fan of the show and am absolutely devastated by this loss. May he rest in peace.
