Universal Announces Release Dates for seven Films

Universal recently announced the official 2013 release dates for seven films, including Identity Thief, Kick-Ass 2, and Jurassic Park in 3D. 

Identity Thief is a comedy that stars Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman and the release date was moved from May 10 to February 8, 2013. The studio also announced that Jurassic Park in 3D, which was going to be in theaters mid-July next year, will now open on April 5 and the romantic comedy About Time, starring Rachel McAdams and directed by Love Actually‘s Richard Curtis, will be released on May 10.

Universal also announced that the anticipated sequel, Kick-Ass 2, will be hitting theaters June 28, 2013, which means that the studio’s R.I.P.D. will be released on July 19 instead of its previous June 28 release date. R.I.P.D. has a cast that includes Ryan Reynolds, Mary-Louise Parker, Kevin Bacon, and Jeff Bridges.

And finally the studio announced that the mob drama, 2 Guns, starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg  will arrive on August 16. Once again, 47 Ronin, the release date for the Keanu Reeves samurai fantasy has been changed. It was originally going to be released in November 2012, then it was moved to February 2013, and now it set to be released Christmas Day, 2013.

Trailer and Photos – “Anna Karenina”

A trailer has been released for Joe Wright’s new film Anna Karenina, which is  based off of Leo Tolstoy’s novel of the same name.

This film is on the right track for success as Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare In Love) wrote the screenplay and it has a very strong cast. Cast members include:  Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly MacDonald, Matthew MacFayden, Emily Waston, and Olivia Williams. It is set in late-19th-century Russia high-society and follows the aristocrat Anna Karenina (Knightley) as she enters into a life-changing affair with the wealthy Count Vronsky (Johnson.)
