Classic 1990’s “Power Rangers” to be Brought to the Big Screen

On Wednesday, Lionsgate and Saban Brands announced that they will be bringing the classic 1990’s television show Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to the big screen, in a way that will “re-envision” the franchise.

The show, which aired for the first time in 1993, has been in continuous production since the premiere, whether that be in made-for-tv movies or the actual show itself, which only ran for three seasons. The franchise is one of the most recognizable brands and has produced action figures, costumes, video games, DVDs, comic books, and other merchandise.

Power Rangers is about a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.

Here’s hoping Lionsgate can do the original Power Rangers justice!

If you watched the show as a kid, which Power Ranger was your favourite? If you’re new to the Rangers, are you going to see the movie when it comes out?
