Lionsgate to Expand into Video Game Community

Looks like Lionsgate Entertainment is looking to make more than just movies, according to an article on

The company announced that it’ll be launching a games division, and it looks like YouTube CEO Peter Levin will be heading the development of the new division. GI International states that Levin will be responsible for expansion into interactive entertainment.

Levin was the co-founder and CEO of YouTube and Nerdist Industries prior to this development, and was an advisor for media company Rovio.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer had this to say about Levin’s appointment: “Peter is a perfect fit for our entrepreneurial culture, and he is ideally qualified to lead the continued growth of our content business into the video game space and other interactive digital ventures. Gaming has become one of the most explosive growth areas of the content business, and Peter’s mandate will be to build a portfolio of premium digital properties as we expand our leadership in films and television programming into digital content as well.”

What kind of games would you like to see come out of Lionsgate, based on their films?
