Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort of “The Fault in Our Stars” are “Entertainment Weekly” cover stars

Actors Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort of Divergent and the upcoming Fault in Our Stars film will be gracing the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly! With the release of The Fault in Our Stars just under a month away, these two actors and author John Green will be very busy with promoting the film.

EW’s Sara Vilkomerson was able to visit the set and talk to the stars, Green, and director Josh Boone. This week’s issue will be full of great interviews and details from the set.

Vilkomerson asked the critically-acclaimed author how he felt about the fact that his novel became such a phenomenon: “I tried to write the funniest, most honest love story I could about these kids who were living with a difficult disease. I never thought it would be popular. I certainly never imagined it would be a movie.”

Elizabeth Gabler, president of Fox 2000, revealed to EW that producer Wyck Godfrey convinced her to pick up the film: “Wyck called me and said, ‘You can’t pass on this. You have to do this. I said, ‘Why are you doing this to me?’ And he said, ‘Because. It makes you remember when you were a teenager and you were in love for the first time and you didn’t want to hang up the phone.’”

Lastly, Green had some very nice things to say about Woodley and Elgort: “Shailene has become Hazel to me. Ansel has become Gus. The feeling I’ve had consistently is this deep weird joy.”
