Lucasfilm and Disney have finally settled on a release date for the first film in the new Star Wars trilogy. All of the previous Star Wars films have been released in May, but fans probably will be surprised to hear that is not the case for this next Star Wars adventure.

The companies have decided to release Star Wars: Episode VII on December 18, 2015. Recently, director J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan announced that Michael Arndt will no longer be writing the screenplay. Instead, Abrams and Kasdan have decided that they will be co-writing the screenplay.
