Movie Exclusive – Potential Release Date for “The Fault in Our Stars”

The production for The Fault in Our Stars movie adaptation has been picking up and the production team is hard at work with early development. The production team announced that the film will be shooting in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

A recent report from a Pittsburgh newspaper revealed that cameras will start rolling on August 26, 2013. It also revealed that this film could potentially be released in 2015 instead of the 2014 release production was originally aiming for. There is no official conformation that the film will be released in 2015, but the speculation is interesting nonetheless.

Most fans of the John Green novel are aware, of course, that the book is actually set in Indianapolis, not Pittsburgh. However, production will be using Pittsburgh because of production value. There is no need to worry though because I am sure the crew will do a great job in making the city feel like Indianapolis. Plus, there are scenes when Hazel Grace and August Waters travel to Amsterdam, which is another shooting location the film will be heading to.

The Fault in Our Stars currently stars Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster and Ansel Elgort as August Waters. This film is being produced by Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen and the screenplay is being penned by Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter.

What do you think of a potential 2015 release date? Do you think the production made the right choice to film in Pittsburg? What do you think of the cast behind this project so far? Be sure to check back in for more Fault in Our Stars movie news!
