Miller begins to have difficulties hiding his dishonesty from wife Ellen (Sarandon) and daughter and heir-apparent Brooke (Marling). He is also balancing an affair with a French art-dealer Julie Cote (Casta). Just as he’s about to sale his troubled business, an unexpected error causes Miller to juggle family, business, and crime with the help of Jimmy Grant (Parker).
