Rising Star Monday – Logan Lerman

Those of you who are fans of the Percy Jackson series, you are already familiar with the talented young actor Logan Lerman!

The twenty-year-old, Los-Angeles-born actor is currently in Vancouver working on the Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief sequel, Sea of Monsters. Lerman has been in other films such as The Patriot, The Butterfly Effect, Hoot, The Number 23, 3:10 to Yuma, My One and Only, and most recently as D’Artagnan in The Three Musketeers. Plus, he currently has five titles under production. He will also be starring in Stephen Chbosky’s Perks of Being a Wallflower (alongside Emma Watson and Ezra Miller), which is set to hit theatres on September 14 this year.

Lerman developed a passion for film and acting from a young age and told his mother when he was two that he wanted to be an actor. He had an agent by the time he was four. He began auditioning for roles in the ’90s and started out doing commercials. His mother Lisa is his manager and his father Larry is a businessman who works in the orthotic business. He also has two older siblings, Lindsey and Lucas. His family is of the Jewish faith and they left Europe in the 1930s because of the Nazi regime and settled in Los Angeles in the 1940s.

Lerman’s interest in film has led him to becoming an actor and looking into the other aspects of film such as producing, writing, and directing. Be sure to keep an eye on this young man as he has a bright future ahead of him.

    I’ve seen him in Hoot, 3:10 to Yuma, The Patriot, Percy Jackson, and The Three Musketeers. I think that I must be one of the few film buffs that liked Musketeers because it seems like it gets a lot of hate at some of the places I’ve seen it.
