The film The Perks of Being a Wallflower is based on the novel of the same title, written by Stephen Chbosky. This Sunday the first trailer for the film will be released at the MTV Movie Awards.
The story follows a 15-year-old boy named Charlie (Logan Lerman) through his freshman year in high school. He is going through the regular emotions that a freshman deals with and is coping with first crush, Sam (Emma Watson), the suicide of his best friend, and his own mental illness. Charlie (Lerman) is also struggling with trying to find new friends with whom he belongs. That is where Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Ezra Miller) come in.
Perks of Being a Wallflower has a talented and diverse cast including, of course, Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, and Ezra Miller. Other members of the cast are Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman, Zane Holtz, Johnny Simmons, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott, and Paul Rudd.
Stephen Chbosky not only wrote the book, he wrote the screenplay and directed the film! The Perks of Being a Wallflower is set to hit theatres September 14, 2012.
